Fimmtíu kvikmyndagagnrýnendur á netinu tóku sig saman nýlega og gerðu lista yfir 100 bestu kvikmyndir allra tíma. Ferlið var ekki einfalt, en það byrjaði á því að hver og einn skilaði inn lista yfir þær 100 myndir sem hann vildi að kæmust á lokalistann. Þrír þeirra fóru yfir listana og sigtuðu 502 kvikmyndir úr þeim. Allir fimmtíu völdu svo hver fyrir sig sínar 100 uppáhalds úr þessum 502 kvikmyndum og gáfu þeim sæti. Lokalistinn var síðan unninn úr þeim gögnum. Íslenskir kvikmyndaáhugamenn ættu kannski að íhuga að prófa þetta.
Fyrir nokkru sögðum við frá því að American Film Institute hafi gefið út endurbætta útgáfu af lista sínum yfir 100 bestu kvikmyndir allra tíma. Þótt hægt sé að sjá margar myndir á báðum þessum listum er aðeins ein mynd sem er í sama sæti á báðum listum. Myndin sem um ræðir er engin önnur en Star Wars: A New Hope og sætið sem hún vermir er hvorki meira né minna en það 13 og ætti það skiljanlega að vekja áhuga hjátrúarfulla einstaklinga.
